SUMMARY:Digital DIY: Music Making Workshop\, May 2022
DESCRIPTION:Our project is providing an opportunity for youth workers to explore Maker Education with a focus  on DIY activities\, music making and theatre. Maker education is a problem-based and project-based approach to learning. It emphasizes the use of low-tech and high-tech gadgets\, a trial-and-error mindset\, and it encourages learners to develop 21st century skills such as communication\, creativity and problem solving. \nYouth workers will be able to gain hands-on experience exploring digital educational workshops which incorporate skills such as electronics and programming. This will be an opportunity for professionals to come together from across Europe and brainstorm new tools\, methods and techniques relevant to this field. \nCalling for participants from Spain\, Italy\, Greece\, France\, Latvia\, Romania and Belgium. \n  \nWHEN? \nSpring 2022 mobility: May 23rd to May 29th \n  \nCOST? \nThis is a funded training course by the European Commission as part of the Erasmus+ programme. Therefore\, there is no participation fee for this training course.\nFood and accommodation for the duration of the training is organised by Digijeunes and costs are covered.\nAll travel costs are covered within reason\, defined by the travel budgets given by Erasmus+.\n \n  \nWHO? \nWe are searching for 15 candidates who are interested in: \n\nDeveloping their skills in digital technologies\, problem solving and STEAM subjects (Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, Art and Maths).\nDeveloping skills to be able to use digital technologies for social change.\nDeveloping Confidence with digital skills and knowledge to be able to run workshops in their own educational environments.\nDeveloping skills around Maker Education and learning how such activities can be used to inspire younger generations and reconnect them with society.\n\n  \nWHAT? \nThe mobility will focus on the following topics: \nIntroduction to Maker Education: Plunge into the universe of maker education\, learn from each other’s experiences\, explore state of the art educational supports on maker education\, debate the influence of maker culture and the maker movement on the youth work sector \nElectronic prototyping: Learn how to create electronic circuits and manipulate electronic components. Explore maker activities for youth on this topic \nCoding: Explore physical computing\, visual coding softwares\, learn how to run educational activities on the computational way of thinking and enhance interactivity of electronic creations via computer programming \nDIY Music Making: Learn about the different techniques and tools there are to be able to create music through digital means. We will explore different workshops and activities that can promote Maker Education through a more interesting and creative manner. \nTheatre of the Future: Discover how Maker Education techniques\, which we regularly use can be given interesting and creative applications around theatre and the arts. \n  \nWHERE? \nThe courses will be held in La Fouillade\, France\, a small town situated not far from Toulouse. You will be hosted by Digijeunes\, an organisation which specialises in providing Maker Education activities and training and focuses on accessibility of digital knowledge and tools.  \n  \nTRAINERS \nThe training will be led by youth practitioners and professionals of the ICT sector from Digijeunes. \n  \nAPPLICATION \nIf you want to participate in this training course\, please fill out this google form.
