DESCRIPTION:Maker Education in Youth Work\n\nTraining Course \n22-28 November 2021 | Tirana\, Albania \n\nWe are offering two one-week-long courses during 2021/2022. They are targeted towards youth practitioners and will give them the opportunity to learn about Maker Education and how to apply these concepts in youth work.\n\nMaker education is a problem-based and project-based approach to learning. It emphasizes the use of low-tech and high-tech gadgets\, a trial-and-error mindset\, and it encourages learners to develop 21st century skills such as communication\, creativity and problem solving. \nOur project is providing 2 opportunities for youth workers to explore maker education\, exchange on these topics with individuals from across Europe and brainstorm new tools\, methods and techniques relevant to this field. \nWHEN? \nWinter 2021 mobility: November 22nd to November 28th. \nSpring 2021 mobility: dates TBC \n  \nWHO? \nWe are searching for candidates who are interested in: \nDeveloping their skills in digital technologies\, problem solving and STEAM subjects (Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, Art and Maths). \nDeveloping skills to be able to use digital technologies for social change. \nDeveloping skills around MakerEducation and learning how such activities can be used to inspire younger generations and reconnect them with society. \nWHAT? \nThe Winter 2021 mobility will  focus on the following topics: \nIntroduction to maker education: plunge into the universe of maker education\, learn from each other’s experiences\, explore state of the art educational supports on maker education\, debate the influence of maker culture and the maker movement on the youth work sector \nElectronic prototyping: learn how to create electronic circuits and manipulate electronic components. Explore maker activities for youth on this topic \nCoding: explore physical computing\, visual coding softwares\, learn how to run educational activities on the computational way of thinking and enhance interactivity of electronic creations via computer programming \nReward system for maker education: brainstorm ways of rewarding the efforts of young makers\, exchange on techniques and methods to acknowledge the learning outcomes of youth engaging in maker education \nMaker education and inclusion: learn how to get hard to reach youth involved in maker activities \nWHERE? \nThe courses will be held in Tirana\, Albania. We will be hosted by Arduino Albania\, an informal group of people with a passion for open source hardware and software\, digital technologies and accessible education for all. \nTRAINERS? \nThe training will be led by youth practitioners and professionals of the ICT sector from Digijeunes\, Arduino Albania\, Junda Youth centre\, and HorizonLab. \nAPPLICATION \nIf you want to participate in either of the two training courses\, or both\, please fill out this google form. DESCRIPTION:We are running an event on 26th November to talk about Non Formal Education in the form of Making and how it can be used to engage youth in STEM subjects. \n\n\n\n\nThis is a hybrid on and offline event\, connecting two groups of participants in Toulouse\, France and Tarani\, Albania.
